Project Description

The project intends to treat the excess sludge of the Mu’ta Mazar treatment plant (design capacity 70,000 PE) together with the organic waste (food waste) of the University of Mu’ta (monthly amount approximately 32 tons). The treatment in digesters will generate gas that will be used to power i.e. a CHP unit. The digestion plant is considered as pilot. Main motivation of the project is the reduction of the CO2 foot print of the WWTP.
